A few quick weeks in China.

Yes, I'm a bit behind on the posting. So, without much description or fuss, here are some photos from China where i spent a few weeks biking through the streets of Beijing and Shanghai with new and old friends. It helps to be in the best of company.

Even when I try to take time off, there are no breaks. It is hard for me to think of anything besides housing and the built environments I'm surrounded by. Moving through Asia is one complicated housing puzzle after another. China is a srange mix of disorientation and extreeme comfort at being back in the pace and fervor of big cities. I have a different sort of comfort here than I found in Mongolia. Shanghai in particular holds the crown for being the near-perfect postmodern metropolis. Once cannot help but have the feeling that you could be anywhere, still somehow you are also nowhere at all. It is not "China", but it could only be in China.

. . . . . . . .
