Preparing to leave
I barely made it out of Madison. Three cancelled flights, some airport mishaps and one stolen, delayed luggage debackle later, I'm in New Jersey for a few days rechecking gear, getting a last mintue visa and trying to pack. I would love to have another month in Madison. The Hindi was finally going somewhere, and that town is full of wonderful people and adventures galore. I feel ultimately privileged to have spent time in such gentle company and I extend my love to the entirely of my new Madison family. You are all wonderful and enspiring people. Those sticky summer nights of porch-top conversations, cold pitchers and ice cream cones, moonlit swims, and pitch-black bike rides did wonders for me and my frazzled and battered New York self. But, I think I am ready to be leaving.
By Sunday, I'll be in Moscow, and the following week, I'll finally find myself in Mongolia with a vast plateau of adventure ahead of me. In a way, I've been preparing to leave on this trip for months already.
